How to Install Vortex Executor on Windows PC

Requirements

Vortex Executor runs on any reasonably modern Windows PC. Before you install Vortex Executor, make sure you have:

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) — Windows 7/8 are not supported
• 4 GB of RAM or more (Roblox itself needs most of it)
• 50 MB of free disk space
• The latest Roblox client installed and able to join games

No additional runtimes are required — the installer ships with everything Vortex Executor needs.

Install Vortex Executor step by step

Step 1 — Download VortexSetup.exe

Press any Download button on this site to get the official Vortex Executor installer (~6 MB). Save it anywhere convenient, such as your Desktop.

Step 2 — Temporarily allow the app

Because Vortex Executor injects code into Roblox, antivirus engines sometimes flag the installer as a false positive. If Windows SmartScreen or your antivirus asks for confirmation, choose Run anyway / allow the file. You can re-enable protection right after installation — we explain why this happens here.

Step 3 — Run the installer

Double-click VortexSetup.exe. The installer unpacks Vortex Executor to your chosen folder and creates a desktop shortcut. It takes a few seconds and asks for admin rights once — this is required so Vortex Executor can attach to the Roblox process later.

Step 4 — Launch Roblox and attach

Start Vortex Executor, then open any Roblox experience. Press Attach in Vortex Executor — injection completes in a couple of seconds and the status turns green when Vortex Executor is connected to the game.

Run your first script

With Vortex Executor attached, paste any Luau script into the editor and hit Execute — or open the built-in Script Hub and launch a ready-made script for your game in one click. Popular starting points are FPS boosters, ESP overlays and auto-farm scripts for Blox Fruits and Pet Simulator 99.

That's the entire workflow: download → install → attach → execute. If something doesn't work on the first try, the fixes below cover almost every case.

Troubleshooting

Vortex Executor won't attach

• Run Vortex Executor as administrator (right-click → Run as administrator).
• Make sure Roblox is fully updated and you are inside a game, not the home screen.
• If Roblox was open before Vortex Executor, restart Roblox and attach again.

"VCRUNTIME140.dll not found" error

Install the free Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) from microsoft.com and run Vortex Executor again.

Antivirus deleted the installer

Add VortexSetup.exe to your antivirus exclusions and download it again from this page. Read why this happens before restoring the file.

Roblox updated and scripts stopped working

Wait a day or two: a matching Vortex Executor update usually follows Roblox patches within days. The app also checks for updates automatically on launch.
